Why do I need to complete the OACP Certificate?
You will need to complete the OACP certificate process prior to applying to be eligible for a career as a police constable or special constable in Ontario. Completing the OACP certificate process is part of the Constable Selection System.
What does the OACP Certificate test assess?
This is a general mental ability assessment that is designed to measure your ability to problem-solve, comprehend complex ideas, and make decisions quickly. The OACP testing is used for police constable and special constable positions in Ontario.
How many questions are in the OACP Certificate?
In total, there are 74 multiple-choice questions in the OACP Certificate.
OACP Part B, Section A consists of 44 questions. The questions are comprised of spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation.
OACP Part B, Section B is based on police problem-solving. There are 30 multiple-choice questions in Section B.
How long is the OACP Certificate test?
To complete the OACP certificate testing, you should ensure that you have a comfortable space with no distractions. The assessment will take about 60 to 90 minutes, so it's best if there aren't any interruptions!
How is the OACP Certificate test graded?
A commonly asked question is, "what is a passing score?" Notably, this test is not a pass-fail test. This test is used as a tool in the hiring process to be a special constable or police officer in Ontario.

It is very important that you do not cheat during this test. Cheating will result in disqualification. After the disqualification period, you will be permitted to re-apply; however, the test proctoring footage will be provided to the police service.
